SHARP SIGHT CENTRE BRINGS EYECARE ‘SEWA’ FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

15th June, 2014, New Delhi India- Its quality eye care ‘sewa’ time once again!

Leading eye care hospital, Sharp Sight Centre today held its second ‘SEWA’ program- a one of its kind eye care initiative for the senior citizens in an air conditioned hall of the Mewar Insitute, in Sec-4, Vasundhara. The awareness camp was organized jointly by Federation of RWA Ghaziabad, Vasundhara Zone and Sharp Sight Centre.

This unique program which has been a first ever to be started by any medicare centre would largely benefit the senior citizens in providing quality eye care virtually at their doorsteps.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kamal B Kapur, Medical Director, Sharp Sight Centre intoned about the reason behind this initiative which is currently in running in its second year.

“This concept of SEWA originated from our interaction with more than 1 Lac patients in our centre and is based on social responsibility of private medicare providers.”

Dr Samir Sud, Medical director, Sharp Sight Centre also expressed his views.

“Senior citizens often lack supportive systems and find it difficult to look after their health. Also with increase in life expectancy, more people will be affected by diabetes, high BP and other age related problems and all these affect vision.”

“Besides providing the necessary eye treatment this programme will form vital support system for them. People will be provided with personalized cards which will entitle them to facilities like free pick and drop on the day of surgery, free investigations and medications. Besides this many other benefits will be given,” explained Dr Kamal B Kapur.

“Apart from providing eye care treatment to the senior citizens of our society, this programme also aims to create social awareness by imparting knowledge about eye diseases, their ill effect and their preventive measures,” concluded Dr Samir Sud.

The camp was chaired by T P Tyagi, Chairman of the federation. Dr Samir Sud, and Dr Kamal Kapoor, Directors of the Sharp Eye Centre, VP Sharma, co-chairman of Federation, Devendra Malik, Vice-president of the Federation, U B Garge, SK Maheshwari, Dr Alka Aggarwal and V P Bansal were present on the dies.

Sharp Sight Centre hopes to organize many such awareness ‘SEWA’ camps in the coming future with huge success!
